UTILITIES - TRASH - SEPTIC
Trash Service

Each year the POA solicits bids for trash service to include free heavy trash pickup and free curbside recycling. You may use your own trash cans, or rent them from the trash collector. Trash pick up days are every Monday and Thursday. The current contract is with Five Jab. Please contact them for your service, and individual billing. Tell them you are a Thousand Oaks resident for our special rate of $ 20 a month.  Bulk Trash such as large pieces of furniture, stoves, water heaters, or large yard debris should be disposed of on "bulk trash" day. Please call Five Jab for the next bulk trash day.  If one person cannot lift it, or its too large to fit in a normal trash truck, its probably "bulk".  Smaller trash that will not fit in your bin (boxes, small tree limbs, etc) should be placed next to it, on trash day.  Please do not leave trash cans or trash out on non-trash days.

- Trash days: Every Monday and Thursday
- Up to three trash cans (96 gallons max)
- You may use your own cans, or rent them for $2 per can per month.
- Free Reycling pick up every Thursday.
- You must set up your own account.

SEPTIC

Each home within Thousand Oaks has it own aerobic septic system.  These systems are required to have a "maintenance contract" with a local certified provider to inspect your system 3 times a year, and file those inspections with the county.  This usually costs around $ 150 for a year contract.  You can usually find a provider by looking on your septic system box for a sticker and phone number.
